PRAYERS for 2026 FELLOWSHIP DAY
He Will Not Let Your Foot Slip
Prepared by Members of the ACW National Committee

Psalm 121
(NIV)
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

PRAYER
Faithful and watchful God,
we thank You that You keep us safe.
When our steps feel uncertain and the path is unclear,
remind us that You will not let our foot slip,
but hold us steady in Your loving care.
Strengthen us, O Lord, to walk together in faith,
young and old, united in Your purpose.
Guide our steps in compassion, courage, and hope,
that we may be a light in our communities
and a witness to Your steadfast love.
Watch over all women throughout the world,
especially those who face hardship, fear, or loneliness.
Grant them courage for each new day
and the assurance that You always walk beside them.
Keep us faithful in service, joyful in fellowship,
and confident in Your promises;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN

1 Kings 17:12–14
(NIV)
“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”
Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain on the land.’”

PRAYER
Dear Lord
When I am called to give, I pray for the trust to give generously, as did the widow at Zarephath. Beyond the jar and the jug, it is your unfailing providence that keeps me from stumbling in my weakness.
AMEN

Matthew
6:25–27 (NIV)
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we praise you and thank you for your great love and care for us. You supply all our needs and are with us through all the challenges of life.
Help us to trust fully in you in all aspects of our lives. In your name we pray.
AMEN

Psalm 23
(NKJV)
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, we thank You that You are the Good Shepherd of Your people. Just as a shepherd takes care of every need of his sheep, so too do You take care of every need of those whom You love.

You watch over every step that we take so that our feet will not slip on the path that stretches before us. Even when that path takes us through the dark valleys of life, You are still with us and leading us and providing for us.

May we always recognise Your presence in every aspect of our lives and give thanks for Your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
AMEN

Psalm 56:12–13
(NIV)
I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.

PRAYER
Loving God, I praise you for delivering me from certain death. To you alone do I owe allegiance and thanks for my salvation. You alone can keep me safe and upright when the wrong things of this world threaten to trip me and cause me to fall. Please help me to always strive to live triumphantly in the guiding light of your Word. This I pray in the mighty name of my Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
AMEN

Psalm 121:5–8
(NIV)
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going

PRAYER
Almighty God, Omnipresent One,
Thank you for the promises in your word that assure us of your presence at all times, that you promise to never leave us. There are times when we are uncertain, afraid, unwell, weak, weary, seeking help for decisions that need to be made. Thank you that you have given your Holy Spirit to live in us to strengthen us, sustain us, and guide us.
Help us to remember your promises when we need your help, knowing that you are our good and faithful God.
This prayer is made in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
AMEN
