Psalm 42:5
(NLV)
Why are you sad, O my soul? Why have you become troubled within me? Hope in God, for I will praise Him again for His help of being near me.
PRAYER
Lord, we give you thanks in this anniversary year for all the blessings You have bestowed on us in the 60 years of our ACW history.
We acknowledge with humility that there have been times when, like the Psalmist, we have been troubled as to discerning our future direction.
Trustfully, we pray for Your continuing guidance and place our future in Your hands.
AMEN

PRAYER

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.
Dear God, our trust is always in you. We know that wherever we wander you are with us: our strength and our salvation.
AMEN

Psalm 84:3b–5
(NIV)
PRAYER
Lord Almighty, my King and my God,
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
They are ever praising you.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
Whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
O Lord, our God.
We praise you for your love.
We thank you for your care and guidance.
Our trust is in you.
You are our strength in our Christian pilgrimage.
Blessed art thou, O God, our Saviour, Lord,
And our Redeemer.
AMEN

Psalm 139:1–6
(NRSV)
O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away.
You search out my path and my lying down. And are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely.
You hem me in, behind and before and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is so high I cannot obtain it.
PRAYER
Dear God, the psalms give us such strength to continue in our uncertain world. We have leaders in the world who see violence as the only way to progress; we know that you are all powerful and all knowing. Despite the desperate plight of so many in this world that seems overwhelming, somehow in the end as Julian of Norwich said: “all shall be well,” because you are with us.
AMEN

Ephesians 4:3
(AMPC)
Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.
PRAYER
Loving God, give us courage to change – to align our thoughts, words and actions more closely to your will. Fill us with wisdom so that we might understand your will for us. Give us courage in proclaiming through the way we treat others that Christ comes to save.
Faithful God, continue to shower us with your grace. Help us to place our trust in you every day, bringing your peace and light to all we meet.
AMEN

Psalm 27:1
(NKJV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
PRAYER
Loving and faithful God, we thank you for your guiding hand and constant presence. In every season, you have been our light, our strength, and our peace. Because of your love, we are never alone; because of your protection, we need not be afraid.
Bless our fellowship today and always. May our hearts be open, our hands ready to serve, and our lives a reflection of your grace. Lead us forward with hope and courage, trusting always in your care. In Jesus’ name we pray,
AMEN
