Isaiah 52:7
(NIV)
How beautiful on the mountains
Are the feet of those who bring good news,
Who proclaim peace,
Who bring good tidings,
Who proclaim salvation,
Who say to Zion,
"Your God reigns!"
PRAYER
O Lord our God,
You are our Redeemer, our King, our strength, our peace. As your disciples, help us to bring your light to others. By our words, our actions and our lives may we be peacemakers for you. This we ask in your name.
AMEN

Mark 16:5–6,8
(NRSV)
As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.” So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
PRAYER
God of Hope, when we are faced with fear regarding acknowledging you, may we be witnesses of your resurrection and ongoing work in the world. In this uncertain world may our words and actions via your Holy Spirit bring others into your fold.
We know the women were the first witnesses. Archbishop Rowan Williams has written: ‘they must have told others!’
AMEN

Romans 8:31b
(NIV)
Psalm 100:5 (NKJV)
If God is for us, who can be against us?
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
PRAYER
Eternal God, we praise and worship you for who you are, God of love, goodness, faithfulness, forgiveness and mercy.
You have been our Refuge through many generations, be our Refuge today in every time and circumstance of need. Be our Guide when things are dark and doubtful. Be our Guard against all that threatens our spirit’s welfare. Be our Strength in times of testing.
It is your goodness and mercies, O Lord that fill us with a sense of security.
Gladden our heart with your peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN

ACTS 3:2–6
(NIV)
Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So, the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

PSALM 97
Psalm 97 proclaims the majesty of the Lord who reigns over all the earth. In its vision of justice, light, and joy, we are reminded that God calls women everywhere to be faithful, courageous, and a light to others.
Please read this psalm in your Bible.
PRAYER
Majestic and righteous Lord, you reign over all the earth and the mountains melt like wax before you.
We give thanks for all women, and we ask that you bless them to be women of faith and courage.
May they be a shining light to their families and to all whom they encounter.
Let their joy, compassion, and love reflect the glory of Christ, so that your holiness and truth are made known throughout the world.
AMEN

Philippians 4:9
(NIV)
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
PRAYER
Loving Jesus, help us to be committed to bringing your peace to the world. Be with us in all our words and actions so that, like Paul, others will see that our faith in you is authentic, and it delivers peace to those who obediently follow you.
AMEN
