    Lo, Here is Fellowship

As a follow up to last week’s blog on Fellowship Day, I found a companion piece to the 1978 service that I mentioned. This piece appeared in the July 1978 issue of Women at Work, the newsletter of Australian Church Women (ACW). It was written to the members of ACW by Doris Mitchell, Secretary of the 1977–79 NSW National Executive, before she departed overseas for several weeks. I have now discovered that Maisie also found time in her busy ministry schedule to write several books. I know this is probably not news to our Uniting Church sisters but for those of us f

    ‘Top End’ Challenges

The Northern Territory Unit of Australian Church Women (ACW) became inactive recently, after more than forty years of service. The unit had a slow beginning in April 1975, only four months after the devastation of Darwin on Christmas Day 1974 by Cyclone Tracy. That was a huge leap of faith during an extremely stressful time when the population was seriously depleted and 80 percent of Darwin destroyed. It took three and a half years for the population to return to its pre-Trac
