The Beginning of a Wonderful Opportunity

The Winifred Kiek Scholarship (WKS) is a wonderful opportunity for young Christian women to be financially supported for a year of further study. This scholarship programme was the second project to be considered by the Interim Committee of Australian Church Women (ACW), and they launched the WKS in 1964. Once the first ACW National Committee was inaugurated, in 1965, the Working Committee began work on developing a policy for the Winifred Kiek Scholarship. This policy was ne

The gift of God’s Holy Spirit

An item from the June 1973 Australian Church Women (ACW) newsletter caught my eye because of its relevance to Pentecost and the gift of God’s Holy Spirit. It is a report on the ‘Induction of New President for the Women's Inter-church Council of N.S.W.’ ‘On Monday, 21st May at a "service of celebration and dedication" the induction took place of Mrs. Win Dougherty in the Chatswood Central Methodist Church as the Federation of Methodist Women's nominee of President of the Women

    Motherly Love

Sunday 9 May 2021 is the day that many countries will celebrate Mother’s Day, including Australia. Not only are mothers honoured on this day, but also women who have shown motherly love in their care and support of others. In the ‘Honouring Australian Church Women (HACW)’ book, there are many past and current members who have contributed much to the lives of children and young adults. Their love for these young people is unconditional, and they often make personal sacrifices

    Progress

My post this week has been prompted by the new website for the Fellowship of the Least Coin (FLC) prayer movement. This website is well designed and visually appealing. It is also easier to navigate to the information it holds. Many of you are very busy women and have little time to spend keeping up with changes on the Internet. Thus, you are sometimes unaware of advances in web design and technology. But you do faithfully support and participate in the Fellowship of the Leas
